This is a bit weird for me to ask and I'm not going to go into the ethics of this but how do we know if Pembroke is still the same person as the male lynx and not just having all his memories and thought processes? There is a possibility that the male lynx that went through the procedure never truly woke up and Pembroke is just his mental copy and not the original.

While I do love topics discussing the legitamites of transhumanism in a digital age where memories and such can be copied and transfered like any other data file. The issues of people tampering or even hacking said personalities. You know, the various Ghost in the Shell topics. I think Mr. Strype means that Pem here is the same person as her former organic self. She just has a much more superior body and is a lot more comfortable with who she is instead of living life in a body not fit to who she was anymore. I think a good example of this can be seen from the movie Chapie where father and mother of Chappie are digitally scanned and transfered into mechanical bodies after their organic bodies had perished.
tentacles are flat, about 2cm thick. The thrusters light up like glowy plates when active, which range from just lighting up while gently maneuvering in microgravity to foot-long plumes of blue energy when she's really hauling ass. Nothing's actually burning, it's just waste-light from an otherwise purely kinetic push (it's superscience well beyond what we can conceive of now)
