A little fox devouring a shroom that almost certainly can't be good for him. But still, a gesture of appreciation for all the hours keeping me company while doodling, and for reassuring me that reaching my 30s ain't so bad after all.
A big focus in this piece was subtle color gradient. There's an enchanting depth that can come out of just delicately mixing in a complementary color, and I want to play around with this a lot more when the chance presents itself.
All pertinent apologies to Beth Cavener (who's showing in New York at the moment).

Foxes do not appear to have the best of judgment when it comes to fungi. Either that or they have some kind of immunity.
Wow, I remember seeing this on stream a long time ago, and I never knew who drew it. Now I just randomly stumbled across your gallery and here it is!
It's always crazy to see people (like cookubanana for instance) on the booru first, and then here drawing booru-unsafe art afterwards :P

Funny, this reminds me of a PC adventure game I played a while ago, where one of the plot points was a fox that got poisoned by eating a mushroom. Then the player characters have to heal the fox so that it will track the scent on a piece of clothing for them.
Question: Are all of your pictures this high-res originally?

The game is called "Farnham Fables", and it's a short retro style point-and-click adventure game. 2 episodes have been released on Steam so far, and they cost 1.78€ (together). The fox appears in the middle of the first episode (as well as in one of the game's emoticon - It does have Steam trading cards).
In my opinion, the game's high point is its incredibly well developed humour. I literally ended laughing out loud on several occasions while playing it (No, the fox part isn't done for laughs).
Also, a bit of a warning: the game contains National Geographic style nudity. And anthropomorphic lizard girls. It's not porny, though.

Update: The the first episode of the game just became available for free at http://www.ethreadreams.com/
This was mostly an exercise in lighting. Sometimes I get too protective of a piece that I've put a lot of time and planning into, and then the lighting style ends up being quite conservative.
I don't know how much is worth understanding about the piece as a whole, but I'll send you a video ;)
