Brownie fudge head, red velvet cake ears, and lemon muzzle. If you like cream cheese frosting, go with that, then decorate. :P

I used individual tin foil pans which I shaped before baking, then a knife to form the smaller features. It works the best when you refrigerate your cake.
Good luck!!! If you need help, I never mind lending a paw. ^.^

That's pretty inventive with the pans. I've seen enough cake carving that I think I could get by with cutting and adhering pieces with buttercream. And yes, working with cold cake is easiest! Once I carve, I'll give it a crumb coat and leave it in the fridge, and then decorate it with a proper coat of icing.
My main struggle is that I can't think of a shape to go with initially. A cutesy animal or shape would be cool, but I'm just out of ideas. I will be sharing this cake with family who have no idea what the fandom is... so there are some boundaries.
There's no real theme for 20th birthdays, either. :/ What a shame.

Thx! :}
Hmmmm....the crumb coat, do you mean rough icing the cake which will inevitably pull up crumbs into the icing?
Can't go wrong with a cute pudgy birdie. ^.^ Or how about a birds nest with 20 birdie cupcakes with a candle in each? They can all be different and the birds nest can be rolled wafers used for coffee. ;P

Budgie's are pretty round, that would work, and you can base it off of your pied Tango guy (or any other pied). Having two colors on the cake will be quite unique. ^.^
But, I like Road Runners. They have that awesome post orbital red and blue area: http://pinker.wjh.harvard.edu/photo.....d%20runner.jpg
