Unless America is totally out of its mind, I still doubt this will really happen in its proposed form. Perhaps there will be an acceptable compromise version on new Net Neutrality rules... they just can't disrespect millions of users by outright letting ISP's censor whatever they want!
As much as I hate Google myself, for turning Youtube into a strictly censored platform worse than national television in a third world country... I admit they've been doing a lot of good in keeping the internet open, and I have to thank them for this at the end of the day.
Depends who you're referring to. I don't think those who want to eradicate Net Neutrality will win, since literally the whole world is against them and the internet is already up in flames about this... I hope the FCC will feel everyone's wrath for openly opposing the free internet in such a despicable way.
It’s not just the censorship, they are pretty much able to control what we see also. It’s obvious why it’s seen as a bad thing. There are literally no pros to this. They are giving more power to isp companies that are very incompetent with customer service and are already basically a monopoly since there are only 2. This is such a blatant attempt to prey on customers for more money. You can’t offer premium shit for what is now a modern day recourse. THEY CANNOT DO THAT! The internet is now a utility. We need it for almost everything in the modern world now. Everything about this idea is scummy. It’s no surprise 99% of people are against this. I can’t express how utterly enraged I am at the idea of this and how they almost got away with it. They decided “fuck what 98% of our feedback was, we want money.” No good comes of this, it hurts EVERYONE.

Those who are against Net Neutrality argue that it's in fact keeping bandwidth prices high and it's giving control of the internet to the government. I don't see how any of those statements are true; The thing that is true is that it's keeping us safe from ISP's discriminating against sites they don't like for any reason, and not doing so only paves the road to censorship. Happy thanksgiving
