A concept art page for my friend.... He was thinking about a storyline where a whole planet's economy is based on breeding pandas and then slaughtering them for their vital organs and fur.

The panda society is moulded by the corporation. Thus, all the mature males after a week long ritualistic mating session is taken off to enter the "gate of light".

They are decorated in wonderous trinkets of affection and painted as honored heroes then sent through the gate on their own accord. The gate is a portal to the meat processing plant and their deaths.

Maybe their deaths do enable such a society to run.... and that is the scariest theme of all.

Story of one panda's escape, rebellion, and... failure (defeat to an extent. My nature would "puke" at seeing injustice... even if it is my own sense of right and wrong.)
