Auren'ya (Ganthoren female concept-1)
From my published novel, "Daggers of Darkness, Book #1, Into the Black":
This is a B&W concept sketch of a Ganthoren female (the Ganthorens were mentioned in the first "Daggers of Darkness" book), by the name of Auren'ya. I haven't worked out the color scheme yet, though they are said to have a passing resemblance to an archaeopteryx from Terra's dinosaur period. She would be about 5 ft 4 in tall, slim build, fairly light in weight, small though very sharp teeth, her arms extend into wings past the wrist joint, and she can fly and good at climbing anything that her finger talons can hook onto. She has both fine scales and feathers, and a long tail that has both scales and feathers.
I'll probably be doing a full drawing of Auren'ya eventually.
I drew this using a 2H graphite stick, a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, and a white vinyl eraser on heavy weight sketch paper.
