As an animator (who animates in that style sometimes) I can say that the assets for that kind of animation still do have to be drawn by hand before you build the 'puppet' to animate with. I'm really curious to see some of the behind the scenes of how those puppets work, actually. Cant help but miss the old days of hand-drawn stuff, though.
Regardless, thanks so much for the compliment!

Yeah, it doesn't necessarily look bad the way they do it, but you can tell that something is just off. There was this one screencap I saw from the new Ducktales show, and it was immediately apparent to me that the extras in the scene were digitally copied and pasted, with a couple of them being mirrored. Probably not as noticeable in action, but mehhhh...
And yeah dude, your stuff is great.

Yeahh i bet they do cut corners like that for some scenes. The way i usually describe the lion guard in terms of animation is 'good by kids tv standards, bad by Lion King standards'. You can tell right away its puppet stuff, but I cant help but wonder how they can get the transitions so smooth between different shapes. Thats why i'd be interested in seeing how its made.
awww -blush- im really glad you think so!
