A "quick" sketch I did earlier this evening both to jot down this idea I've had for a few months and to practice some traditional art. I'm aware that the art sucks, characters/objects are off-model on pretty much every panel and I drew Tux (the Linux penguin) extremely badly but hey, this was just a quick bit of fun and some practice towards comic-style pieces (the last hand-drawn comic I did was...oh, about 6 years or so ago)
Moving on, using the scanner was "fun". My combined printer/scanner/photo copier/fax machine(WTF?) has been refusing to work 100% these last few months and I feared the scanner wouldn't work under Linux, especially seeing as it had recently stopped working in Windows Vista (re-installs, driver checks, etc and nothing), but to my surprise it worked like a charm and actually gave me some pretty good control over the process.
Which brings me to my next point...the first time I scanned it the end result was...massive. Roughly 11,000 by 15,000 pixels or so and coming in at a whopping 430-odd MB as a .png! O.O
Needless to say I rescanned under different settings (namely about 1/3 the size) and have shrunk it accordingly so it will fit on FA.
