Thought I had uploaded this previously, but apparently I had only put up a single pic. This is one of my older DAD commissions, and so far I'd say my best one to date.

On average about 2-3 weeks because I can only work on them 'part time' due to physical issues with my arm/wrist, and RL work.
Rather than wool roving, which is the standard for needle felting, I actually use a specific type of acrylic yarn. This is what I started with due to cost, and have stuck with it due to ease of availability and color options.

It does take practice, and I have been a crafter most of my life, as it runs in my family on my mom's side. I will warn you though, learning to needle felt needs to be done carefully. Constantly stabbing something with a sharp serrated needle is a great way to relieve stress and frustration, but you can so easily prick you're own finger. I've done so a LOT my first year. But with practice, it is such an enjoyable craft.
I can relate with the crafting in the blood. Clay, wood, and metal for crafting furniture and the like. Would like to learn stone masonry. And electrical. I do want to look more towards art though, I can follow almost any style I see, I'm like a living Xerox machine. I was told (repeteadly) when I was younger. I'm not an artist. So I gave up learning my own style or making art. An I see pieces like this, or other lovely art and I find my fingers itching to want to try again
I'll need to study a bit more to see what is required of felting and be very careful so as to not felt my fingers. Thank you for the replies. I know you've a busy schedule and it's appreciated
