this one is pritty, you should dump the long sword for a small class weapon, as for rangers it all about dex, wis (high for spells), you need to get his chrisma out of the dumps if you want to use his charm spells, but you have time to do that...

just remember your feats... rangers get free dual wield, so take abidex right off the bat so you can get improved dual fast, take weapons fineness which lets you use your dex to modify your damage instead of str but only with smaller class weapons. disarm and improved will get you some good loot and imporved crit and mass crit; when your hitting 3,4,5, or 6 times with each hand youll be suprised how many critsy ou get, im proved crit adds half damage delt back to its self and mass crit doubles it so a weapon with a crit strick of X2 would become an X4.

yes he is alright you need to buff his charisma, and get weapon fineness... then stick to light melee and ignore strength, with weapons fineness you use your dex mod for damage instead of strength.
