Lane Arola and Kaia Honoria (Re-Imagined) [August/15/2017]

My second re-imagining of the "Youth of Afternight" characters! I think Lane went through the biggest changes in his character.
Lane Arola (formerly Amelia Magnus), born in November 2. 1874 (Scorpio).
Lane is a 20 years old snow leopard with a calm head and "head first, heart after" take on life. He approaches things from logical perspective trying to not let emotions cloud his judgements, and he can be quite blunt and downright cynical at times. He's very afraid of mistakes and usually takes longer than necessary to make sure nothing goes wrong. He is very careful of who he lets close to him, but people he does get a loyal friend for life.
Lane only recently appeared in Everfrost Village with his spirit partner Kaia Honoria. Because of Kaia, he was almost immediately recognized being a citizen of Northpass City, the "shaman city" of Nordia. It is the only place where magic and witchcraft are still being practiced and beings like Kaia can be seen. Lane comes from a noble, honored shaman family who were experts at healing. He is the only child. When Lane was only a kid he was diagnosed with a weak heart and was in urgent need of replacement. A fitting doner was not found so a decision was made to try an experimentation. His heart was replaced by a mechanical one that is powered by combining technology and spirit energy. Kaia Honoria was a spirit who volunteered to connect herself to Lane’s heart and form a symbiotic relationship. Kaia provides Lane life energy and guidance, and in exchange Lane grants Kaia a freedom to roam the land with him without restrictions.
Ever since Kaia was conencted to Lane, she taught him many things about her kind and it became his dream to study spirits and become a spirit whisperer. Ever since he became 15 he went off to study to become a shaman specialiced in spirits. However, what made Lane's life complicated is the fact he's a transgender male which is heavily looked down upon in his family and social circles. Due to noble family's traditions he was expected to follow strict roles and one day have offspring to carry on the family legacy. Carrying a child was the last thing he wants from life. Lane kept his identity a secret for years and a long time associated with a group made of people just like him. Lane Arola wasn't his name till he adopted it in the group. It was Amelia Magnus. However, he was eventually caught going to this group and that was when hell broke loose. The word spread and he became a target of humiliation and shame. When the social torture became too unberable for him, he was left with only one decision. He had to flee and leave his studies and life behind, and search for something new. He and Kaia ended up in Everfrost Village which was far from a place he wished for, but because of the myths and stories of the village he started considering staying, and kindness shown by Alvina Sutton and her friends set it in stone. He never abandoned his goal to be a whisperer though and still continues learning about spirits.

Kaia Honoria, born in ???? (???)
Kaia is a cheerful and energetic little creature who doesn't lack common sense or wiseness. She's very compassionate and nurturing person, however she does tend to have childish outbursts if she doesn't get what she wants, and she also has a huge knack for gambling usually turning everything into a bet.
Kaia's kind are called Feya, pixie like creatures who usually coexcist with shamans lending them guidance and knowledge. They can only be seen in a city called Northpass where all the remaining shamans in Nordia live. Their presence on land is similar to ghosts; they are bound to one place, most commonly in shaman families or hospitals. Kaia used to be a house spirit coexcisting with Magnus family till she volunteered for an experiment to be linked with Lane to save his life and was granted freedom to roam the land with him.
