To clarify:
○ Every pair and *rarely even* triangles can be soulmates, no matter their sex or gender.
○ To get offspring however, you need two Shijis with reproductive organs, since they are not magically
reproducing. Yet the pair does not have to be cisgender at all, can of course, but doesn't have to. Intersex,
cisgender and transgender characters are all able to produce offspring if you want to. If you have a gay
pairing, there is the opportunity to have a triangle relationship with another Shiji. For example you could
also have a triangle between two cisgender males and a transgender male and can have offspring,
or vise versa, etc.
