A fun little idea I had between two of my more curious "animal couple" characters, Kyuranya the white-morph Red Fox and Rezura the Papillon/Finnish Lapphund Mix, drawn by El-Gallo in 2017. Expect a short comic involving these two at some point ;) Kyuranya was once a pet, a father's gift to a young daughter he barely knew. While living among humans, Kyuranya developed a bit of an unhealthy obsession with shiny things (especially emeralds) and as she grew older, she also began to look disfavorably on her human masters (they did have her spayed after all!) and when she finally made her escape, she stole several of their valuables as her trophy/reward for putting up with them for so long (or that is at least how she'd tell it!).

On the streets she'd eventually bump into Rezura and sensing an opportunity to lord herself over another creature, she developed something of a curious friendship with Rezura (while maintaining the dominant posture in the friendship). Eventually this would lead to a "genius" plan by Kyuranya to use Rezura to weasel her way into other human abodes for the purpose of pilfering them of their valuables as well. Get Rezura adopted by these new families one at a time so that Rezura could learn the layout of the house and let Kyuranya in. Naturally, Rezura is a bit uncertain about helping Kyuranya commit such a crime (and also to help her feed her obsession).

That is probably more backstory than you desired or bargained for, but perhaps it'll help set the mood when the comic finally comes to be :)
