The reciever of my AR-7, in a further disassembled. That bit with the spring on it (at the bottom of the shot) was a real bitch to figure out. Just assuming that the rifle, by design, doesn't let you safe it unless it's cocked. Kind of makes sense, since I don't think you can have a round in the chamber without it being cocked, unless you try way too much.
