It figures that as soon as I got a shiny new tablet I'd be hit with an almighty wave of art block. Granted, that's probably my fault, as I burned myself out doing all those Peacemaker pictures so close together. Anyway, I finally got around to finishing something on my Cintiq! I'm still adjusting to it after working on an Intuos-style tablet for so long, but I'm slowly becoming comfortable with it. I decided to throw together a quick picture of my grumpy baby Arik, and I think it turned out surprisingly well considering it's the first picture I completed on my new tablet. Arik's usually my go-to character to draw when I'm in a bad place emotionally, and anyone who read my recent journal will know I've had a pretty rough past few days. My budgie of nearly ten years passed suddenly, I was locked out of the house, and contracted a debilitating stomach virus all within the span of a couple of days. And if that wasn't enough, today I fell down the stairs because of my stupid slippery socks. My bottom is going to be bruised tomorrow, I can tell you that much.
