As Christmas slowly approaches, I thought I'd get many of you psyched up for the holiday - by posting a 'photo-op' of a Christmas tree in the downtown Miami, Florida area. To be specific, said tree is located on the outskirts of the Bayfront Park (open air) Shopping Mall. (It's located within a stone's throw away from the Intercontinental Hotel, where the New Year is ushered in with the rising of the 'Giant Orange' - not to be confused with the dropping of the 'Crystal Ball' in New York's Times Square area.)
Using the digital camera feature of a tablet, I took a picture of the Christmas tree - on the same day I was in town for the (nearby) "Miami Book Fair" (back in November, 2017). And although this very tall plant had decorations and a star on top, the lights were not turned on. (A 'tree-lighting event' would take place in early December.) Still, the way the sun shines on the star - while the shadow of a building covers the rest of the tree - gives this scenic snapshot an ethereal effect. I hope that you'll agree with me...
Merry Christmas!
