I was looking back at some of my older inks with Pokemon, and I actually still like quite a few of them. I figured it'd be fun and relaxing to try to go back to some of these and draw them again with everything that I've learned. The result is this really nice sheet of line sketches, which I'll probably color sometime soon. With how busy I am right now, it's hard to find a way to relax that doesn't eat up tons of time; luckily, these sketches are both fast and enjoyable.
When working with established characters, I generally like to interpret rather than recreate, so instead of trying to draw them exactly as they look, I like to transform them into something stylistically closer to what I do. Sometimes they don't change too much, but I find the very simple pokemon designs like azumarill here translate in very amusing ways.
I could see myself doing something like this on stream; taking requests for simple sketches. But right now I definitely don't have the time for that.
