Usually people who say that aren't being genuine about it or have very little experience and hindsight when it comes to Final Fantasy, somehow I doubt you've played FF going back the ps1 games...
If you have, you'd know that a lot of that 15 is sorely lacking. Not sure how a downgrade from what we've already had in previous games is better but ok, not surprising. I have enough ammo against final fantasy 15 to write essays but there's not point in trying to convince people that don't really know better, so I'll keep it short.
All I can say is the best example of the true heralds of the Final Fantasy name are FF6-12, FF tactics and The Nintendo DS remakes of FF4 and FF3.
As a mention, I'll even throw in FF13 because despite it's shortcomings in linearity and it's somewhat passive auto combat, it still gave quite an effort to retain the spirit of final fantasy in various well thought out and presented ways, the little things that add up. They especially did well with the soundtrack and world design, hallmarks of a mainstay Final Fantasy game. Though I will say FF13-2 and Lightning Returns where pushing it far and testing peoples patience.

Well I've played literally every single mainline Final Fantasy game so you're already objectively wrong lol
Also that's a whole lot of words that don't actually say anything, feel free to list some of the problems you have with FF15 in the case that you actually want to discuss the game.
Also it's a little weird that you consider yourself the paragon of Classical FF Taste when even your own opinions are a bit against the grain. The usual consensus I see is that FF13's sequels were way better than the original, for instance.

If you only commented on my post to argue that FF15 isn't bad then I ain't got time for that...
When did I ever say I was a paragon of final fantasy tastes? I will say my opinion has a bit of weight regarding the topic of FF15 do to the fact the I have a considerable history with the series. There are a lot of newcomers as of late who don't know anything about Final Fantasy saying 15 is their favorite game when it's their only point of reference.
I only mention 13 as a comparison often with it being the considered the worst final fantasy yet still having more identity than 15. Currently 13 is sitting on a marginally better metacritic score than 15 so I ain't trying to hear none of that nonsense. Though I will say Lighting Return's combat is better than 15's, it feels more tactical and important.
At least with the older FFs you won't have to download patches to play in a non-bugged and complete state. Forget game preservation with 15
You are being defensive about a game that released in a woefully under-developed state when looking at it's original vision, ambitions and potential.
I'm giving this game more than a chance with 65 hours played, I've even held off on some chapters just to play the game in a more complete state going back just for limited time items. My plan is to try to give myself the experience 15 should've had at release and give the game a big picture review.
If it still fails to then there's no excusing it.
I'm out.

I really think you should review the entire thread.
I made a statement and you rebuked it in a condescending matter, my stance on the game obviously offended you in some way. This is what sparked an argument. Furikake approached disagreeing with my statement much better way than you did and no argument was started with that reply. The only hilarious thing here is how you glossed over valid points when you saw a well thought out response.
Final Fantasy 15 in it's basic state can be proven inferior to it's predecessors.
I rest my case.
Now go do something more productive than defending a let down final fantasy title.

Hey dude, I'mma help you out because you seem to be lacking a lot in the self-awareness department.
"Furikake approached disagreeing with my statement much better way than you did" [sic]
... except Furikake and criticalhit64 said nearly the same thing, except the latter had the gall to say it was their favorite. Your response was a ream of text on how that just had to be a lie, or maybe they're not a REAL FF fan for not having played all the games. Hilariously enough, you proceed to accuse them of being defensive.
Nobody's going to be interested in arguing with this "gatekeeper" flavor of bullshit. You even covered the "bashing filthy newcomers" trope. Everyone is just entitled to their "weighted" opinion as you are. Hell, you could have mentioned objective things that are usually used to measure success, such as FFXV's lower sales numbers, but instead you're acting like a caricature of nerd rage.
P.S. It doesn't help when you sprinkle belligerence throughout everything, like how you totally don't have time for this, or commanding them to go be more productive despite having a 1 to 5 word ratio against you.

I loved the characters :> prompto is my favorite, I just wanna protect him! And iggi, omgish cant wait for his eps. Have you seen the trailers? And the fact that you will be able to switch between the party members in combat? (I hope this holds true for exploration as well)
