The diaper must be one of the unique level perks, like the Frost Breath in the snow level (which was kinda stupid since you were unable to defeat snowmen with it and had to use sunlit mirrors) or maybe it's a post game permanent upgrade like the superbreath in Spyro 2. Perhaps the diaper makes him invincible.
Yeah, with his short claws, Spyro wouldn't be able to change himself, so he'd have to rely on someone else. Unfortunately for him, Sparx is the one most about ha ha.
Hope to see more Spyro, you do him well. If you need inspiration, maybe one of those egg-thieves makes off with a fresh diaper, with Spyro trying to give chase in a rather waterlogged one
