On the evening of November 11th; I unveiled, to a group of my closest friends and family, a keyboard that I have been on the hunt for... for the last four years...
This hunt has not been without its setbacks... I lost three of its cousins... and I lost one of the best friends I have known... but... I think it was that friend who ensured I got this absolute masterpiece of an instrument...
Serial Number 1154, manufactured in either late 1939 or early 1940...
I wish to present to you all, The Hammond Novachord; the world's first commercially available polyphonic synthesiser... and the only example of one currently known in Australia.

It has picked up a few electrical gremlins on the trip it had to take from the Netherlands (This is it about a year ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMEuibX4c04 ) but... yes... yes, the hell it does... It sounds more beautiful than anything else I have played in my life
This is beautiful! I've been trying to get my hands on one since the 80s, to no avail. but my search has led me to owning a Vako Orchestron! When I bought it (mid 1990s), it was the only known one in existence. Since then, 15 more have been discovered and sold. Mine originally belonged to Ralf Hütter of Kraftwerk!
