Okay, I have been told that the eyes might be a smidge too large on the model. Going through the expressions, I wonder... are they too bulbous? The eyes really poke out in the "Surprised" and "Frightened" expressions.
Have a look at this chart; each row represents one setting in 3 different views, so it's 5 variations all in all.
(Explanations farther down, vote by instinct for now...)

So, the head is obviously an amalgam of human and animal proportions. With a human, the eyes are directed forward and are set in a plane, allowing for three-dimensional vision. The distance between eyes is normally an eye's width (bridge of the nose).
In predators, 3D vision is also important so the direction of the eyes is still forward, but the distance is bigger. With herbivores, the eyes are set to survey as much of the surroundings as possible, so they have a small overlapping 3D field of vision and eyes that are set more to the sides.
The more you cartoonify a character, the bigger the eyes may be. Anime does well with eyes as big as the head However, a round eyeball that actually fits the skull would look weird and poke out, so the visible eye is flattened (either by the nature of 2D drawing, or by using a smaller visible section of a far bigger eye, or by applying a deformer to the cornea).
This fox head is partly cartoony (so the eyes are always bigger as normal), partly animal (as defined by the head shape), and partly human (as the distance between the eyes indicates). But there are still many subtle variations that apply. So what is the best compromise? Vote now!
Row 1: Head as previously shown with 100% eye size
Row 2: Eyes reduced to 90% size in the same position
Row 3: Eyes reduced to 90% size, moved 5mm towards the center
Row 4: Eyes reduced to 80% size in the same position
Row 5: Eyes reduced to 80% size, moved 6mm towards the center
I did actually not include a version with larger eyes (more Zootopia-like) as these would require a change in head shape. The eyes are already fairly big in the original, and I wanted to go with "natural spheres" instead of applying more abstraction.
