And now for one of my self-defeating habits: complaining about something I love! If it helps, imagine one of Liz's parents saying this.
"No. That's... not how genetics works. Even if the trait is heritable, that doesn't explain how she went from four legs to eight in a second. If anything, it raises a new question of why she only had four legs to start. And since neither of us has eight legs, I'd expect Liz is carrying a single dominant gene from out of nowhere and that the eggs contain a mix of four- and eight-legged--"
Wait. How developed are the fetuses? Chicken eggs take 21 days to hatch, and I'd expect larger species to take months. These eggs were laid last night, so I'd barely expect to see a blastocyst.
