My newest knife acquisition, a Laguiole Extra from G. David. For those that don't know, Laguiole knives are incredibly high quality knives made only in the Laguiole region of France. They're famous for their high quality carbon steel and handmade artistry. The blade keeps an edge sharp enough to slice through paper (and skin) without even applying any pressure, and it's a small little blade, about the size of a small scalpel. These things normally cost upwards of 150 Euros, but the guy I snagged it from thought it was just a plain old kinfe and sold it to me for $10 USD.

Trust me, I've been stabbed, beaten, shot at, burned, everything you can think of, and I still find knives beautiful. I mean utterly gorgeous. A simple piece of steel with an almost infinite number of uses. Plus, just the feel of a perfectly honed edge against your skin is unparalleled. It's incredible.
