Arofa Nahmat
Length (from nose to tail): 157 cm
Height (on all fours, from toe to shoulder): 68 cm
Weight: 40 kg
Age: 17 (22 2/3 in human years)
Date of birth: Dec 12th
Nahmat is Tamahn's twin sister and counterpart. As you may have noticed, her name is his name spelt forwards (the letters "A" and "H" being treated as one), or backwards, depending on whom you ask.
If Tamahn is the brawn, Nahmat is definitely the brain. She is very intelligent and perceptive, quick to learn just about anything and often the first to notice things other people wouldn't. She is also cool, patient and hard to fluster, and finds great delight in exerting her mental capacities, psychic or not.
She received the nick in her right ear from Tamahn in the same fight where se gave him his green fur.
I think that Nahmat is actually the second character to be made that I've still stuck with, having been created around 2003~2004 because I realized I hadn't made up any good female characters 'till then.
Kaiota Bethern
Length (from nose to tail): 165 cm
Height (on all fours, from toe to shoulder): 74 cm
Weight: 44 kg
Age: 18 (24 in human years)
Date of birth: July 21st
Bethern is Tamahn's team paramedic. He is a qualified physician, has some training in the use of the sword, and has a basic understanding of magic, mainly enough to aid his practice as a doctor.
He is mellow, soft spoken and thoughtful, always taking care to examine his convictions in the interest of fair judgement on all things. Being a medical practitioner with a scientific attitude, he often brings a fresh view to things normally given little consideration, and for someone with the air of a saint, is remarkably comfortable discussing otherwise vulgar or taboo issues.
His practice is normally independent of his work with Tamahn, but after being hired by Tamahn's Major, Uraki Jenna, he and Tamahn came to be good friends, and continues to work with him as an extension of his practice. He also has a crush on Nahmat.
I had a first created Bethern because I was toying around with the idea of my story being told by Tamahn, as a secluded hermit coming out of hiding for a short time, recounting the events in the story to Nahmat's puppies, and I needed a mate for Nahmat to enable this. Well that was scraped, but I liked Bethern so much, I decided to keep him as Nahmat's love interest. ^.^
