Race: Owl/human
Appearance: Eulen is short, standing at 5’3 in boots. He’s pale, since he doesn’t go out much and when he does, he wears heavy clothing, but his amber eyes shine with intellect. His clothing follows a brown motif. He wears a heavy zip-up hoodie without strings, almost a jacket, with thick leathery gloves that are somewhat rectangular at the fingertips. Each glove has a darker brown raised leather square on the back of each hand and a wider, darker wrist. Set in the middle of each box is a brightly glowing jewel; green on the right hand, yellow on the left. They allow him to use magic when he touches them. The more magic he uses, the duller they get, until they run out of power. The jacket is specially designed with two wide slits in the back, which allow his owl-like wings to sprout out and move around, allowing him to fly freely. He also wears simple brown sweatpants with deep pockets and large boots that elevate his height by about an inch and a half while standing. He carries a silver knife in a sheath strapped to his leg.
There are some burn scars on his back from when a teacher “crossed a line” when punishing him.
Personality: Eulen was once a rather rebellious boy, but after spending years at a boarding school where teachers are encouraged to use magic to punish students (though there are lines they must not cross), Eulen has become much more obedient towards authority. To him, authority means “anybody older than himself.” He has fairly severe social anxiety, and feels immensely uncomfortable and distraught when he’s even near a group of people. He can force himself to enter the same room as a group of people, but he can’t force himself to interact. He will stick to the corners and try to hide. The only thing that makes him feel comfortable enough to be around people at all is the heavy clothing he wears; it makes him feel safer. Less vulnerable. The only thing he would like to add is a mask, and he almost did, once, if not for the fact that it would attract more attention than if he didn’t wear a mask.
Though he’s young, he possesses intelligence beyond what would be expected of a 15-year-old, but retains almost all of the impulsiveness. He’s good at making plans involving himself, but when he has to factor other people into the equation, his planning skills suffer a little bit. He’s quite familiar with his own powers and abilities, but he doesn’t quite know or trust anybody else’s abilities until they’re demonstrated for him in detail.
History: Around the time that Eulen was born, it was discovered that he had an affinity for magic, but could not “produce” magic on his own. Through his parents’ persistence and a good deal of luck, he came into possession of two magic gems when he was about five that allowed him to use their power to cast magic. However, they would run out of energy and have to recharge at a rate of 10% per minute. At first, the least bit of magic would take up 100% of a gem’s power, but through practice, he has managed to greatly decrease the amount of magic lost, though he still loses a lot of magic per spell. What he loses in energy, however, he gains in control: He has impeccable control of his magic and can perform even high-level magic fairly easily, though it takes a lot more energy than it should. At about 13, he went to a boarding school for budding magicians. He was rebellious, and thus was the subject of much punishment from his teachers. There was a rule in place that allowed teachers to use magical means of punishment, but there were several strict lines that must never be crossed. One teacher did not heed these lines. His punishment left Eulen scarred, though only on his back. Sometimes, when he’s feeling threatened, Eulen will instinctively move to protect his back, where his teacher had burned him.

His primary magic was ice, though he could also use minor water magics. He often carried his older brother’s tomes around with him. Despite his appearance, he was fairly outgoing, and certainly an extrovert. He counted Eulen as his best friend, and Eulen counted Frie as his own best friend, though only due to the fact he had no other friends. To be honest, though, Frie often rather annoyed Eulen.
