Minerva's Redemption [Art Archive]
Codename: Minerva's Redemption is an experimental railpistol that fires three-inch Tungsten rods capable of punching through armor up to three inches thick. Utilizing slide-back cocking mechanism to both rotate the eight-shot cylinder and load the next shot, the design is reminiscent of old revolvers but until a better design can be developed, it will have to do for now. Minerva's Redemption has a charging time of roughly two seconds, the powerful magnetics lining both sections of the barrel taking a moment to power up before launching the Tungsten rods at high speeds. Due to the projectile size and the speed of which they travel, recoil is comparable to that of a .50 BMG round yet at the fraction of the weight and size. The incredible speed of the rods ensure minimal drop and the precision of Minerva's Redemption make it an excellent sidearm to engage enemies at nearly any distance, though the standard iron sights limit it to targets within eight-hundred yards. Development of a sight capable of handling the recoil is currently underway and is being looked into as a precision sabotage/scout weapon.
A firearm I designed a few years back, I'm amazed at how well it's held up despite the improvements I've made in my skills since drawing it. The first versions were far more crude and much less impressive, but nonetheless, I am very proud of how this turned out considering how this is among the first few weapons I have ever drawn.
