First Impressions
The young shepherdess had followed the rabbit for several miles before she realized how far away from home she really was. Sure, the thought had crossed her mind, but the sheep had been brought in for the evening and with the laying down of that responsibility, she had been able to truly be a dog for those few precious dark hours. Her feet ran at her own command without word or whistle to guide them. No wonder she hadn't realized the miles she had put under her until she heard an interested chuckle. Looking up, her breath hitched involuntarily.
"Sooo," he started, his voice as smoothe as his black pelt. "I see you've been chasing MY rabbit."
Normally, she would have scoffed at such an arrogant statement, especially coming from a sworn enemy, but there was no true malice in his statement, his great tail waved like a banner behind him, and his hazel eyes were warm and kind...and she found her initial fears melting in them as the tension in her strong body left through her trembling paws.
Giftartage for Deyna and Blackie I had been meaning to do for them when they had related to me their backstory for their two characters. The original is now in their hands.
