First of, this is music inspired by this graphic novel series: http://dreamkeeperscomic.com/
It's about cute little balls of fur fighting cosmic abominations set on devouring all that is alive. You should check it out. But if you want to just listen to the music, stay a while and listen.
Secondly, I actually did an entire fan soundtrack for the fourth volume, called 'Descent To The Archives'. It's basically a dungeon crawl adventure with less monster slaying and more mystery, except for a big fight at the very end, so writing music for it was kind of fun. You can check all the music out here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?li.....mxB7bIsipPUgPk
As for this track, it is a song that I imagined for a scene in the book wherein the group finally reaches the end of their journey, the archives. When the group finds the archives, I wanted for a low-key version of Nabonidus theme to play, to hint at what the place is actually about. I love musical spoilers. The music starts dark and foreboding, only lifted up by plucked strings halfway through, as Lilith starts to analyze the texts. The guitar adds to the calm, almost sounding bored. The first half is all about the place, the second part is where it's at, though. The theme you hear is hopefully familiar, as I used it in 'Before We Head Down There' and 'A Dream Of Red' to highlight Bast. For this volume, he got a new theme, which I'll probably use as a sort of relationships theme for him. The levity of that however, drops, as the group is forced to go deeper into the archives, the bassline welcoming Tendril back to the fold.
