I've tried to confine myself to things that our technology is actually capable of. With that in mind, the laser gun is a bit of a liberty, but the example I found was quite well thought-out. As the image says, I borrowed the ideas (and images) for the clothing from TerraMcBoss. After thinking about it, I decided that the only actual improvement to their selections I could think of was a powered exoskeleton. I've chosen to build my stronghold on Kerguelen, a beautiful island in the southern indian ocean. It is quite far from the zombie-infested land, has ample precipitation to provide clean drinking water, strong winds to provide clean electricity, and both rabbits and cabbage to eat while we get the farms up and running (the imported rabbits have unfortunately caused the cabbages to become an endangered species on the island, but this is one of the things our new settlement will try to correct). The elaborate base, construction of which will probably need to begin before the apocalypse, will feature its own computer network, farms, theaters, apartments, etc; in short, all of the modern conveniences. It will also feature missile silos and a submarine dock. The missile silos will allow us to launch satellites and anti-zombie ICBMs, and the nuclear submarines will allow us to send scavenging parties to sites around the world. In addition to various raw materials and finished goods, we will attempt to evacuate the Library of Congress and the headquarters of the Internet Archive. The zombies will likely be far too numerous for us to completely rebuild civilization, but hopefully we'll be able to take what we want from it and then build a new one.
