Reminds me of many fantasy worlds in which people are experimenting with robots that have sentience. A most interesting, and somewhat enlightening pik.

This reminds me of a discussion I had with someone about the Cylons in the new Battlestar Galactica. They were rather upset by what they saw as machines masquerading as humans while I countered that the humans in the show were basically biological machines. I never had the chance to discuss the developments in the final season when it's revealed that some of the Cylons actually existed before the Colonials invented them. Nice work, Typhon.
