Final tube and cavity of a 20KW gates transmitter. After the gain on the tower its putting out 100,000 watts. Yes... this is one of the parts that will kill you. The system will not start with the door open because there will not be enough air flow across the tube with it open.

I know very well about such high performance Tubes. I woked with ones for CO2 Laser Generators called Resonators. They work with 10kV on a Load of 14 to 20 kW´s at 13,xxx Mhz Frequency. This tubes are Pre-heated with a 5V DC Coil at 180-200Amps. And also inhoused in a Radio frequency sealed Housing.
I've got an 862-UV. 20KV at 12.5 amps. It's about 5 feet tall, and water cooled:

They're always impressive, it's good to see vapor state still being loved.
I'm trying to make sure a big mercury arc rectifier that's in a local museum finds an appropriate home. The museum's closed down and I'd hate to see it broken up just for the sake of the value of the mercury. I've always wanted to see a big rectifier like this in action, but I can't think where I could do that nowdays.
