The point? We won't genuinely know what the end result will be until after January when we can see who sticks and who leaves, and although bad it may not be crippling.

That said, my impression is that this is a flattening of the usual pattern, not a full on plunge. The people who would agree that it's time to leave Patreon (or at least cut back) may have already done so.
