I imagine the missiles themselves have some form of heat shielding between the mechanisms and the burner, that or each missile is programmed to ignore a heat signature that close to it, because by the time it got to an actual target it'd probably shut off the sensor x3 As for why they don't sun, we get more light than heat from the sun, the residual surrounding temperature wouldn't be enough to throw it off :3 I think about these things way too much XD
