It was an easy image to sketch up since I had it in my head the moment I read the brief, however given that this was a full-detailed piece more and more elements came in and I started relying heavily on references (in particular, the restaurant was specifically mentioned where they'd had an actual date) so I revolved most of the composition around one of the images from their website.

Some parts of the composition still feel empty, but I tried balancing it out by focusing in on the detail on their expressions and the table setting. The image on the pillar is an oldie of mine, but given the theme (Asian-fusion restaurant) I thought it was appropriate and it leads the eye down to the couple.

Overall, it was a fun piece to work on although it took me some time to finish. I enjoy these types of settings and hope to work on more in-depth SFW images in future.
