Y'all didn't believe me when I said he was a good character.
I have no idea why, but this is the Revali that I always imagined when I first met him in the base game. While everyone was focused on his abrasiveness and his standoffishness, for some reason I found an awkwardness and a twist of insecurity hidden between the lines that made him appeal to me in a very real way. That's why I was so surprised at the DLC, which brought that all to the forefront. What I had assumed was just fanciful headcanoning turned out to be an actual integral part of his character, and I couldn't be happier.
Now if you don't mind, I think he really needs a hug

Hello. You don't know me, I don't know you, but I have a story, and it might be interesting, and your art will be in the conclusion.
There've been one azure-winged magpie called Mon'ka (russian: Мо́нька), lived with me for almost two years.
He was rescued by one girl after being hit by a car on a road. After that, living with me, he had completely recovered (even his broken beak).
Half a year later he became absolutely tame, and the cutest and kind corvid I've ever seen.
At summer 2017, when it became clear that I won't finish my final year at college, my father shouted at me to take my birds out (with regular magpie Fedya) in an hour, or he will do it by himself.
I've brought them to local wildlife rescue center, and since that haven't seen them anymore.
After that, I've fallen into a deep depression, in which I persist till now.
Now appears the main point of this message:
Some day after decribed below, I've occasionally saw somebody's reference of Revali, and the first thought was: "Wow, he looks like Monka!". At first time it didn't make sense except for nice avian anatomy and cute overall style.
Then I've finally known the source (BoTW) and the storyline of it.
It became very interesting: what's about Revali's personality?
Most of arts and memes (lol) describe it as "abrasive and standoffish"©, but further I've found some things about it's background. Then came the feeling "Wow, he's literally me!", due to I'm skilled in electronics engineering, and sometimes face similar with Revali's problems while doing electronics.
But there was small doubt about trueness of all I've known, e.g. is it revealed somwhere in the game.
And then, I've occasionally found this art, which title added some delightful doubt.
Then, after I've read the description, doubt finally disappeared.
More: "Now if you don't mind, I think he really needs a hug" -- same thought I had all the time, and finally saw as somebody said it.
