I guess this goes in sculpting even though I didn't sculpt these?
Next project after my volcanic bloodletters; Tzaang-letters. Confused? I'm not suprised.
Being a fan of our feathered friends, I couldn't help but fall in love with these things the moment I saw them... Problem is you can only play them in Thousand Sons in 40K, so I decided "Fuck it, I'm getting some and painting them like Bloodletters and I'll run 'em as 'letters." I do kinda have a fluff reason as to their apperance too.
Basicly my general (who I have no artwork off and currently don't have the bits for, I've made a rule I have to finish one box before I buy another) is a former Blood Angel formally known as "the bloody hawk" due to his use of a jump-pack and dual-blades. Upon becoming a commander of a decent sized squad of Raptor equivilants (I don't really know my loyalists XD) he was given a cerimonial helmet with the vestige of a hawk.
After falling to Khorn with the help of a daemonic weapon, one of his first gifts was that his own flesh grew that same vistaige, basicly Khorn saying "Here, show those Tzeechian losers how to use a beak right!" and each subsiquent gift futhered his new "Hell Hawk" idenity.
This factors into these bloodletters as they've served with Kre'or so many times that they've started to mimic his own mutations, again Khorn showing Tzeechians how much they're wasting their gifts by staying out of the fray and shooting magic.
So, paint wise, these will be painted in near traditional bloodletter colours, minus the armor being silver with brass highlights as opposed to red and brass. Red is a nice colour and all, but red skin with red armor, it's a little too much red.
This will be updated when they're painted.
