Seen a lot of people acting rude and sassy whenever a client wants to discuss commission prices, it's not only unprofessional to do so, but sometimes it's better to take a commission for $40 instead of $50 because if you turn them down you make $0 from it. But then again, do what feels best for you, I'm just speaking from my personal perspective of things.
