I'm not familiar with this kind of tetherball. Tetherball out in California is played with a ball the size of a volleyball that's struck with the fists. In the East, do they use a tennis-ball size ball and hit it with paddles?

From what I understand, this is true. I was just using the couple of photos I took that day as ref shots.
I know I've never seen it done Western style round these parts.

Somehow, Eastern style seems much safer for kids. I know I've hurt my hands pretty bad playing tetherball growing up. :)

Again, wonderful pic. Love the different expressions on the kids. What are they, anyway? Shrews?
