Actually, the bass version is the Thunderbird. There's only one pair of guitars by Gibson that I can think of that doesn't have a different name on the bass and that's the Les Paul.

But the Les Paul is hideous as a bass... I don't even llike it as a guitar. D:

Telecaster bass = P Bass. I want a '51 P Bass with a Badass bridge, Ernie ball strings, Teal body, and black pickguard. That would be the sweetest bass in the world, it would.

Sounds sexy... I guess a huge difference in guitarists and bassists is that we guitarists have insanely complicated instruments, but the best basses seem to be simple. Like, if I had a bass, I would want locking tuners, a Floyd Rose trem, coil-tappable high-output humbucking pickups, and as many extra frets as possible. I guess we do seem to always overcomplicate things. D8

The only thing where complication is different is in equipment. Bassists always want to play complicated stuff so that we can shed this sort of "The bass is boring" stigma that we seem to have. If you look at people like Carlos D and Victor Wooten, they ALWAYS do stuff out of the ordinary, which is why they're admired.

True, that. :0 I love Vic Wooten and Les Claypool, but have never heard of Carlos D.
