Maybe one day haha. But I have 3 lvl 80's with full completion on everything and a legendary weapon which i blew a proper 2-3 months on of farming xD. I've had enough of the game. It was amazing during the beta and the first like 6 or so months. But as the time went they started changing. They remade the whole ability / weapon slot opening and gated it behind levels. They removed at least 50% of the initial quests [not even joking there are SO MANY missing quests]. They gated the story behind 10 levels each quest ???? Which is an absolutely TERRIBLE choice. Back then u could do a quest every 1 level or so,. They were engaging, a lot more fun, a lot more full of story. Now the game is really a ghost of its former self. And all the DLCs? Ehhhhh. The first time thorns came out it was a disaster. It scared off a very large chunk of the pop and for good reasons. Myself included It was the last straw for me that made me quit it for good.
Oh yeah, believe me. The only thing that kept me in the game during the HoT content drought was my RP guild. We were all ready to drop it like it was hot garbage by the time raids came around, but then some of us stuck around because the endgame content was just too fantastic. I will say, and I don't want to sound like I'm defending the decisions made by Anet with too much dedication, that the experience of endgame content has most definitely improved between the two expansion releases. Raids and fractals and challenges are bread and butter of a lot of players and it has a dedicated and hardcore set of the userbase that most definitely eats it up.
As for the "new player experience" that Anet shoved down our throats, yeah. It was definitely something that destroyed a lot of our opinions of the game. I honestly don't enjoy leveling as much as I did in first year, and these days I just skip the entire process through rank up abilities. A lot of the game's focus I think in the first few years was divided as the team was as to what to do with the whole thing. Anet was at a crossroads when it changed out their Directors and while Mike O'Brian definitely gave life and some real quality, the game suffered and was stymied by their emphasis on PvE and the living story content push during Season 1. The formulation versus what actually came out was something that was far too ambitious and too breakneck. But what's come of it since actually makes a lot more sense for the company. An emphasis on endgame designs and the themepark attractions that remain to keep players interested. There are a shitload of things I personally disagree with when it comes to a lot of the leveling and open world design. What I will say is that these days it's a bit of a different game entirely than the first few years.
Believe me though, those very grounds and reasons you state are what caused a shitload of my friends to quit.

Yeah. It upset me greatly because back int he day I was there during the entire beta stage. I saw this game being built and and evolve and it was AMAZING. It was hands down THE BEST gaming experience I've had. The beta, and the first like half a year were pure bliss for me. IT was content I LOVED doing over and over again on many classes. I kept deleting my 80s to try other classes coz the spots are limited rofl. I did all the starting zones, all the personal stories , EVERYTHING. But then when the new content started coming out [and the game sorely needed new content], it turned out to be extremely grindy, unforgiving, very unfriendly to solo-players like me. And the time where they started taking out quests, changing weapon abilities, changing how you get them, when you get them, taking out quests [ddi i already say it twice? XD]and the most that pissed me off, was them nerfing bosses!
like Anet HOW DARE YOU TAKE AWAY THE MOST FUN THING IN THE GAME FROM US ??? During beta... fighting that shadow behemoth int he human area was INSANEEEEEEEEELY fun andd diffiult. It was so as well after launch. But then.... they just nefed him and other bosses to a pint where they do no dmg ? Except tequatel coz hes the only challenging boss. Like... really? So it turned to be an afk auto attack fest. GJ Anet.
I will never be able to find the heart to forgive anet for ruining that experience for me. Ruining leveling, making it grindy. Making the quests shallow, too spaced out between each other. They just ruined everything for me. So I don't think I'll ever have the heart to go back to it. I prefer to remember GW2 as the perfect game it was in its very very early days. I refuse to remember it the way ti was the next 1.5 years. Because it was a disaster.
Anyhow though, I must go to bed, its 1 a.m haha... -dies-.
On a side note though, I'm glad you're still able to enjoy it and that they are making improvements on it. Can't say I will come back, but I'm glad someone can still enjoy the game. It has great potential. It always did.
