Forty years after the end of the Great Theran-Verin War, Thera has taken it's rightful place among the Galactic Alliance.
During the war, the gryphon species were leaders that helped pull Thera to victory. Now Thera's greatest threat comes from a member of the species that once protected them.
Risight Mur was a born in the northernmost Thera, explaining the thick mane that most male gryphons lack. For many years he served as the high guard to Senator Nadien, the first Senator of Thera.
He believed that the Great War of Thera would never end and that Therans had no place among the stars with the Galactic Alliance. He devised a plan for his squadron of guards murder Senator Nadien.
Andromeda, his second in command, grew wise to Risight's treachery and refused to carry out his orders. After his attempt to murder the Senator failed, Risight pinned the blame on Andromeda, forcing her into exile.
While Risight has remained in the Senator's good graces, he waits silently for an opportunity to finally succeed in killing Senator Nadien and forcing the blame onto Andromeda.

I've been working on this one off and on for the past few days to take a break from commission work.
More work/character designs for the "Next Generation" portion of the Azura't'oris Chronicles.
Risight Mur serves as the "villain" of the story. Though he isn't truely "evil". He believes that his actions are for the good of Thera. He is basically a zealot that is against change... at all costs.
I'm happy with his design. But not so happy about some parts of the line art. LOL.
I designed him to be more leonine then most of my other gryphon characters. I've been meaning to draw a "maned" gryphon for quite some time. ^^
I do plan on making a character sheet for him eventually... since there are some markings on his body that can't be seen in this picture.
