How to Draw a Braid
This took 20 minutes to make. LOL
THIS WAS A LONG TIME COMING THOUGH.
I literally did not know how to do a braid until my friend said "I start from the bottom/end"
THAT'S ALL SHE SAID. BAM, EASY.
No tutorial could actually help me until I learned this. LOL;
The steps:
1. Draw out the basic shape and how you want the braid to bend (if digitally I suggest having this as its own layer)
2. On a new layer you can add in the puff end of the braid (however you want that to look) and then the strokes should go from the puff upwards into this teardrop shape.
3. Repeat step two with the shape until you get to the hair connection.
4. Back at the bottom, start at the middle of the teardrop shape, then simply make a stroke outwards (with a curve). Don't worry about connecting yet, just do this for each one.
5. Go back and connect them all.
6. Erase/delete the bottom layer and add your details (if you so desire)!
Now you have a braid!
For the life of me I could not copy a braid even when looking at a real braid. It messes with my mind too much so it's a need that I do it this way!!
The red areas is just showing what is new for each step/what I'm explaining!
I hope this helps! It has seriously saved me.
