These were found by Draconis (thank you, Draconis!) when we went to a yard sale the other day. They are from the 1940s and 1950s. My avocation is antiques, and I have dabbled in them since I was 8 years old. If you look at my profile, you will realize that that has been 54 years. Gee, I'm such a greymuzzle! If you are interested in what these ornaments are, there are hand painted ones, some with little dioramas in them (rare), some are made without silvering in them (rare). There are tear drop shapes, a hanging lantern, and even a "UFO" (rare). My favorite one is the little Santa being pulled in his sleigh by one probably very irate tiny reindeer.
If you have an antique whatever and you want to know about it, let me know. I am best in glass, pottery, porcelain, bottles, toys, marbles, advertising, and paper goods. I will tell you about your stuff at no charge, just note me and I'll send you my email for pics. If you like antiques and stuff, I can post some pictures of some of my "stuff", but enough of you have to ask. lol

These are beautiful. I see some that I recall were on my grandparents tree years ago.
They also had the bubble lights that I thought were most interesting (like pictured here: https://www.vermontcountrystore.com.....MItInxpr-V2AIVCbjACh0mUAiUEAQYASABEgKaa_D_BwE)

Ah, there are a few like this in my father's collection. The type wrapped in fine thread strand always seem to fray after 40 or 50 years of use. They just don't make 'em like they used to. The ancient Greeks used to hang ornaments made of solid marble, and the Pharaoh's were forged of gold; so I've heard. In the end, the tree would weigh 1200lbs.
What seems amazing is that they're in the original boxes..
And then I go visit my mom and help her decorate her tree..
Guess what, exact same ornaments, and in the original boxes, and in about the same condition.
Lovingly unpacked and put on the tree each year, and gently replaced and boxed up at the end of the season.
Makes you wonder how anyone could sell them after all that time.
Oh, fortunately, no cat in her house.
