I got this drawing pad one and a half year ago. I didn't draw much at first, but last January I decided I want to draw something else than silly doodles or ... whatever those things were. So I started to draw regularly and while I'm still not a good drawer, I sure as hell am not as bad as I used to be.
Maybe this little showcase will inspire you to draw next year or maybe it will give you a laugh just how badly some random guy on the internet used to draw. In any case, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Glad you found it inspiring!
And I feel ya on the "This looks bad and I should feel bad", it still hits me every time I try to draw hands. But you'll get better and eventually find those rare moments when the drawings start to look good (at least until you look at it a month later and consider it in every way inferior than your current stuff).
Just remember to enjoy the ride and not to worry if your drawings look bad to you now, you'll get to enjoy the fruits of your labor eventually, just like I did :)

Yeah, this feeling was really strong for me.
I did my first ever and only piece of art 3 Years ago, after I got my Wacom tablet and... yeah, since then, pretty much nothing XD
I didn't even got to hands yet and am very scared to get to them X3
I did A side few, a front view and today a pic halfway from the side~
All with different tutorials
Today, I was overfilled with joy and couldn't stop grinning because of how much better the art today was than yesterday. I think I am still slightly on a Dopamine high XD
May I ask how it feels for you when you look at this pic today~?

I'm just kinda amused how rough some of these faces were and some of the silly "style" choices I used to make like the ear without inner details.
I also had quite long breaks between these pictures. While I did do the sort of month of drawing something every day, I kinda got burned out by it that I only drew maybe one or two pictures the next month.
Kinda miss the rapid development too. These days the improvement is more of refining and drawing faster, not that many breakthroughs like I think I had during the year I drew these.

At first I followed some tutorials and tried to get a hang on basic face structure and anatomy. I also took a drawing course that helped a little, but I'd say most of the development just comes down to doing stuff (almost) daily.
Wish I could give some instructions how I construct my characters, but I don't really have that good of a method. Usually I draw a ball for the head, draw a cross on it to figure out where the character is looking, then draw a bigger circle or ovoid for the torso. After that I just try to figure out the rest of the details :D
Good luck on your drawing!

Thanks man that’s really helpful!
I’ve been recently trying to draw at least everyday so I can get the hang at drawing faces and bodies. I feel pretty proud of my profile picture since I’ve never done something like that before. I’m excited to get into drawing and I hope I’ll one day be as good as you lol.
I’ll make sure to join your stream (whenever you next time you do) and I’ll be going by the same username just to let ya know!
And just one final question, what are your regular streaming times?
Thanks a bunch!
