ACE AND QUEENIE'S LITTLE BLACK BOOK: "A PERFECT EVENING"
Alex and Lei'Lani wrap up their stay at the Marleybone by attending one of the hotel's formal summer balls. Alex slipped the orchestra leader a little something so that they would play a special request for him and 'Lani ("Greasing the paw" is a fact of life on Casino Island,as it is at any high end resort locale ),and the two of them slipped away from the crowd and onto a small terrace to enjoy their special dance under a full tropical moon.
Lei'Lani belongs to my wonderful friend,

Now THAT is hot. I love Lani's expression here, and the fact she's so much shorter and needs to be almost on tippy-toes. ^_^
The colors this time are so striking. ^_^ I love how the moonlight effects have been added to give shadow and just a hint of gleam on Alex's face. Finally, I love what you did with the flowers, and Lani's hair here, all scattered and in thick tresses. It's perfect - it says, "Yes, I look lovely and sophisticated, but inside me is still a wild, native island girl."
First rate, Rusty, and one of your BEST so far... ^_^

Something tells me that there's plenty of backstory here, as the only other woman I've seen Alex get this passionate and tender with is Denise. Is Lei'Lani an old flame? New friend? A case of "putting the mission first"?

**Sighs**...Yes, there is backstory here,and I guess I'm just going to have to write a big,long journal to explain it all...for the moment,here are a few quick bullet points:
1).Alex is NOT some heartless,philandering cad,that is not in his nature!!He does not,nor would he ever have, a string of girlfriends around the world that he's hiding from Denise....He and Denise are solidly married and very,very much in love and committed to each other...if anyone bad-mouths Alex,I will be extremely annoyed.2). Alex and 'Lani are lovers and close friends,and this is not going on behind Denise's back...in fact,the three of them together share this relationship.3).Alex and Denise's marriage is "Open",to an extent...mainly due to a very personal struggle Denise went through concerning her own sexual identity.This was something very painful for her to deal with,and Alex was totally and completely supportive of his mate every step of the way. Eventually,with the help of their friend Dr.Jasmine Titania-Smythe, they came to a solution which they both agreed to mutually,and it has only served to make their marriage all the more stronger.Denise does have the freedom to have a lover/lovers...and she has done so.The crucial thing to remember is,Alex is the only man she ever has truly loved,or ever will love.4).Neither Alex nor Denise would ever neglect their duties as secret agents to go screwing around.They are a team,and neither one would ever leave the other to carry on a mission alone. Alex,especially, with his military background,understands when it's time to be all-business.
Figured as much. With what was already established, it didn't seem likely at all that Alex would cheat on Denise and that 'Lani was either just a friend or someone that Denise already knew about and was fine with. Still makes for an interesting aspect of the dynamic between them.
