I had an instructor earlier in the year who made a good point. He said most people paint *objects*, not *forms*. Took me a second to get it, but once I did it completely opened my eyes.
I mean, it's easy to look at a teacup and go "teacup! I know what that should look like," and then proceed to paint it while forgetting it's a form in your composition, and is subject to the light and values of that space.
"Remember the context of the things you're painting" would be one way to condense that, I spoze.

aha, awesome. it is the subtle details that snap this peice into focus for me. i think the shoulders could be srunk down a bit but that is a reletively minor thing. this is realy a drawing, wich is to say it is not mealy a picture it is a trancended experiance. keep up the good work.
