So, I've gotten some requests for some more detailed WIP pictures as people seem to be curious how I go about making these things. I won't do this with all of them but I don't mind posting this for a few of them.
I'll post these throughout today and tomorrow (and maybe Friday if I'm not finished by then) and then afterwards they'll be in scraps if you want to see them. If my workload decreases (lol) then I may post tutorials one day. WE'LL SEE.
This is the second one I'm doing for
Saizuki-san, of a red panda character.
At this stage I've built up the body base. I start by making a circle, increasing up to 60 stitches around (using a G hook) and then go about round 42 before I make the neck, where I decrease, and then increase again for the head, back up to 60 stitches in width. The eyes are almost always added before I sew up the top of the head, whether they're button eyes like this one or safety eyes (as those have a washer in the back that need to be secured). Then a bunch of Polyfil is packed in and it's sewed up at the top.
I generally work from the head down now, so next up will probably be the ears, the muzzle and some facial features. Maybe not all of them. Then I'll do any stomach markings (if there are any, in this case it's a white underbelly), then the arms and legs. The tail follows, after which I do any finishing details, such as spots, markings, fluff, hair, manes, etc.
