A bit of art nouveau with a winter and lights theme. my holiday pic for this year, such as i could manage...
Flats were 99% done - so....wanted something to post...and the theme was just right - so....
When i say old art...sheeesh. The original ink of this (they was humans back then) was from around '79 or '80. Reworked into kitties in '07 - the original ink was scanned into vector via Inkscape - snowflake/flower traced over to make more betterer (doing that by hand back in the day was a task)....
Colour took ages because i knew the general sense i wanted, but - aaaarrggh! couldn't quite find the right colours - lots of mis-starts and rejected ideas - and this is still just "flats" (with some gradients) - finished version will have substantial difference with shading/lighting etc - and i might re-draw the whole thing at 11x17" scale just to make it cleaner and add some minor adjustments....

pencil/crowquill and india ink approx 8 1/2 x 5 in
all sort of art software....etc etc

i sort of like going back and continuing old art....re-connecting to old ideas and not giving-up who i was and my art from back then... And on the other paw, after the current few years of projects (graphic novels etc) are done i'll prolly do something utterly different.........
