Those of you who stopped by my table at AC probably saw this little folfy ^.^ I finally tried to make a handmade plushie, and was relatively successful! She is a gift to my mate, someone to cuddle with while I am away for such lengths of time. She is incredibly soft and squishy and has little beanies in her paws =3
I would like to try perhaps doing commission plushies in the future. Is there any interest for this? =) If so I may put an auction up on FurBuy sometime in the future.

She's a gift to your mate? Oh geez, now I feel so bad for asking if she was for sale... >_<
Anyways, yes... I am very interested in a plushie! I'm still fleshing out my final visual ideas for "Feral Corey" (pretty close to that drawing I gave you), but I'd most certainly love to have a plushie mini-Ravyn like you had at AC! :oD

Ah, I can easily see how she'd be that popular... she really was a cutie sitting at your table... even cuter than Dot Warner, in my humble opinion. ;o)
A plushie gray fox would be adorable; those aren't too common... (around here, at least... heck, I'd be ecstatic to find a plushie of ANY fox around here-- besides the one of an Arctic Fox a friend gave me, that is). I still need to make my "feral" reference sheet though; Corey's not your average gray fox...
I'll try to note you with a relevant subject title if/when your commissions are open and if/when I'm ready to buy one! *yerfle... :oD

It's a Webkinz, if that helps... one of my friends won one somewhere, and it's been sitting all lonely on his shelf until I came over to his house one day. He knows I like foxes, and when he noticed me looking at it with that "D'awwww" face, he let me keep it! I was practically bounding across his room at that point... :oD
Yeah, sadly, I haven't actually seen one on a store shelf yet... but, for you, I'll still keep my eyes peeled for another one! :o)

This is easily as good as most store-bought plushies, so I'd say you were quite successful by those standards. Unfortunately, my standards are rather higher than those of the toy store. Just like drawing, I'm sure you will improve VASTLY just by doing more of them, though. Unlike store-bought, your plushies are made by hand, with love. ^^ That makes them better right away. It also means you can improve, where as machiens will keep producing the same identicle plushies over and over.
Anyway...if I had money laying around, I'd think about it, but right now, the answer is no. I do think you're good enough to make them for people, and with time you'll only get better. Just out of curiosity...how much would you say it cost you, over-all for the materials? I've always had a feeling that the purchase price on plushies was something like 5x what it costs to make it.

Hmm as for material cost... something around $20 I believe
Let's see... 5 x $20 = $100
*Eeep! I better start saving up!
(My parents would perpetually shun me if they knew I would pay $100 for a plushie... so I may pay you straight by cash at AC next year for you to make one and mail it to me... yeah, it's certainly a wait, but I think it's worth it... better than no plushie, after all).

That is about the most adorable plush I've ever seen! You did a wonderful job, Ravyn, and it looks like you're a master rather than a first-timer. I love how the tail turned out, too. Are both eyes blue or is one eye green to match yours? Your mate is very lucky to have you and receive such a lovely gift.
I'd be most definitely interested in a plush commission, so here's another vote that it's a good idea to consider offering.

Eeyup, I used to make custom soft toys and there is definitely a market for them (as you've probably already figured from everyone else's enthusiastic response).
I was charging around US$120 each once I got going - the expense is not so much in the materials, but in your time. It usually took me 6-8 hours to do one.
For anyone looking for eyes, the last batch I bought before I burned out were from CR's Crafts http://www.crscraft.com (I *think*). But they don't seem to have plain black any more...

You say you made up the pattern yourself... could it be possible then to perhaps post the patterns on here? You know so other artists who would love to try their hand at making their own plushie can create one similar?
Sorry, just thought it could be an idea <3
Love the plush though! =)
