What else was I supposed to call my 2017 Art Summary? XD
SO. MANY. BELLIEEEES. >w>
(The placement of these are just rough estimates since I don't have exact dates on when I posted/completed them so if they're a little off, my bad.)
Looking back over these, I'm able to see how much improvement I've made of over the course of the last year. In a way, I feel like I had somewhat of a bell curve of progress. While my shading and highlighting techniques progressed beautifully, I was looking back at some of the figure drawing and sketches I did earlier in the year, and I really like the quality they had. I want to try and recapture that application I had towards the beginning of the year.
I should also note that from January to February I was very limited on what I was able to produce since my time was extremely limited and I had about 0 fun time for myself. In fact, the majority of this year I wasn't very kind to myself as far as feeling like I got to indulge in what I wanted to draw. I was too busy trying to survive right out of college that any and all personal fun I wanted to have got shoved down the drain. But it's my own fault for putting them there.
Going forward I really want to find myself in my artwork. As cheesy as that sounds. I want to experiment more, I want to draw my own characters a lot more, I want to improve my drawing and digital art skills. This might be something I actually want to actively pursue as a career. I'm not sure. There are still so many uncertainties and a lot I don't know going into 2018 and I have no idea where I'll wind up. But my goals have expanded and I want to start treating this as more than just a hobby.
All the art you see was completed by me <3
